Politics is all about the interplay of power among people. Power is inevitable – Wherever there are relationships, there are political decisions…relationships can be coercive and unilateral, they can also be collaborative and mutual. Power dynamics can cure or kill, stunt or empower. Process theology charts a politics of ubuntu, “I am because of you” – grounded in the intricate interdependence of life.
Process politics recognizes that everyone is touched by the holy, has inherent value, and has the ability to shape communities – in other words, is a political agent— for good or for ill. Today, we discuss how to shape community with process values that produce beauty and wellbeing for all.
