Episode 37 “Lincoln and the Better Angels of Our Nature”

“We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory will swell when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.” President Lincoln wrote this before the Civil War began in an effort to call all of the United States together as one nation. We cannot claim him as a proponent of Process theology, be we can consider many of his thoughts and actions as exemplifying what Process would have us believe and do. This is the subject matter of this episode.
